REad about UNE Student Insternship Experiences

During my senior year, I was able to do two internships through UNE. The first internship was working with UNE’s football team where I came to preseason and spent every day with the coaches and players. I became an integral part of the coaching staff and helped with the recruits when they would visit on game days. My second internship was in [UNE’s] strength and conditioning facility.

I’m excited to eventually get an internship. There are some really cool options that past students have done, like working with the FBI and NASA. Those are some really awesome organizations that not a lot of schools could offer students.

My UNE internship eventually led me to present at a national aquaculture convention where I ended up networking with my future employer. I’m very grateful for the whole experience.

Internships are all about finding what you really want to do. I think [everything I learned] is all transferable to whatever I'm going to be doing in the future. I made a lot of connections throughout the internship, which is probably the most important thing.

The [CAS internship] program was straightforward and very helpful. [Through the CAS Internship Office] you get to see progressively how you're doing and it makes you realize there's a purpose behind what you're doing rather than just a job.

I really appreciate the opportunities that UNE allows for students to participate in internships. I'm getting a lot out of this. It's an amazing opportunity for me and I'm learning so much, it's been amazing.

This internship allows me to see the unique ways modern technology can be used in [treatment] techniques. I can learn about the equipment [used] to evaluate new clients and the tools during adjustments, which are all connected to my neuroscience major.

My internship has helped me know for sure that I am on the right track of doing what I love.

My internship has been one of the highlights of my college experience. It feels so rewarding to put the knowledge I have developed in classes to use in a professional setting.

The career advisors and my academic advisor are so good at finding opportunities and emailing you to say, “Hey, this is out there, if you want to come in and apply.

All of my classes on the marine track have been really great. I can apply a lot of that knowledge to my internship.

My UNE education is helping my internship, but my internship is also helping further my education. A lot of the stuff that I am learning this summer, I'm very excited to take back to school with me and talk to my professors about.

My internship has helped me tremendously already. Not only did I meet great people that I plan on keeping in contact with, it gave me incredible hands-on experience that I can use on my resumé for future job applications.

My internship experience will help me moving forward mostly on the social side of environmental consulting.

I am grateful that UNE provides internship opportunities for students while they’re in school because it provides on-the-ground experiences that you aren’t able to get in the classroom.

I love working with the Buffalo Bills. It is an absolutely amazing internship. I get to do so many things that I never thought that I would have access to as an intern.

I took a sport marketing class where we had to create a new promotional concept for the Portland Seadogs baseball team...[eventually], I got a call saying that they would like me to be an intern for the upcoming season. I’m so thankful to my professors and UNE for allowing me to have these unique opportunities.

UNE offers a lot of hands-on experience — there is a focus on internships. Professors want you to do more than one because they want you to have the hands-on experience to figure out exactly what you’re interested in.

From my summer internship experience, I realized that I really enjoyed the outreach part of the job. I liked finding ways to make these issues matter to the general public.

I really, really loved my internship [at Planned Parenthood]. I learned so much about advocacy work and how challenging it can be. It steered me in the direction of women’s rights law, which is what I’m leaning towards now.

Doing my internship at Croissant Rouge allowed me to get an international perspective of chronic pain.
